Direct messages

Pinguin can send the same message to many people at once via direct message. Each recipient sees the message in their DM conversation with Pinguin.

• Home tab → New Direct Message — full editor with templates and CTAs
• /sendmessage — quick compose from any channel

Direct message sends use a two-step wizard (no Engagement Log step):

• Step 1 — Internal name and Send Now or Schedule Message
• Step 2 — Select people manually or pick a DM audience list, choose send-as (yourself or a custom profile), and confirm

• Select people manually — multi-user picker for a one-off send
• DM audience list — a saved group of people (see Audience lists)

Each person receives the message in their direct message conversation with @Pinguin — the same place they'd message any Slack app. No workspace setup is required beyond installing Pinguin.

DM sends appear in Broadcast Analytics alongside channel broadcasts. Detail views show recipients as people rather than #channels.

Direct messages can be scheduled the same way as channel broadcasts. View and cancel pending DM sends from Scheduled Messages.
